Introduction
What is there to say about death? How are you able to talk about death? No word can adequately convey the meaning of death. What does it mean when you say "death"?
In reality, it has no meaning. When you mention death, what do you mean? It is merely a door that leads to an unknown destination. A man is seen entering a door, but after we can only see up to the door, the man just vanishes. Only the door's meaning can be conveyed by your term death. But what actually occurs outside the door? thus the door itself is not the issue.
You must enter the room through the door. So what happens to the person who vanishes through the invisible door? What takes place to him? What is this door, exactly? merely a cessation of breathing? Is life comprised entirely of breath? Do you not possess anything other than breath? If you are only your body and your breath, then there is no issue. Breath ceases, body deteriorates. Death then has no meaning. It does not lead anywhere. Not a disappearing, just a pausing. It resembles a clock exactly.
You don't inquire where the tick-tock has gone when the clock is working and tick-ticking before it ends! It has not advanced. It hasn't actually disappeared; it has merely stopped. It was a mechanism, and something went wrong with it. If you fix the mechanism, it will start ticking again. Is death merely the same as a clock ceasing? simply like that?
